The Focal Point opened in January 1976 and is owned and operated by its founder David Salk. David's vision is to create the finest experience possible for the clientele served by the Focal Point. The Focal Point was one of the first stores in the US to carry Oliver Peoples, and the OP Focal Point store represents the largest independent collection of Oliver Peoples and Paul Smith Eyewear the world.    David attributes much of the success of the Focal Point to the staff of highly skilled opticians, who combine a keen sense of style with an extensive knowledge of optics.
